Jingqiu Guan is an Assistant Professor of the Practice of Dance and Director of Undergraduate Studies at Duke University’s Dance Program within Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from UCLA, an M.F.A. from the University of Iowa, an M.Ed. from Harvard, and a B.A. in Economics and French from Saint Mary’s College. Her work bridges dance, film, and social justice, focusing on cultural identity, motherhood, and issues of race and disability. Recent projects include the dance film First Dance 2.0 (2023) and the documentary Family Portrait (2019), awarded at festivals globally. She collaborates with institutions like the LA Philharmonic and designs visual projections for live performances.
