Rosie Trump is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dance at the University of Nevada, Reno, within the College of Fine Arts. She is a choreographer and dance filmmaker whose creative practice explores the generative potential of single movement actions. Her work has been presented nationally and internationally at venues including the San Francisco Dance Film Festival, American Dance Festival’s Movies by Movers, Light Moves (Ireland), Prague Fringe Festival, and Your Move Dance Festival in Jersey City.
Research Interests: Rosie's artistic research centers on choreography, screendance, and improvisation. She investigates how movement evolves through time and space, particularly in relation to cinematic form. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges dance and film, emphasizing the expressive synergy between body and image. She teaches courses such as DAN 188 (Choreography I), DAN 288 (Choreography II), DAN 388 (Choreography III), DAN 446 (Screendance), and THTR 494 (Professional Foundations).
