Monica Saba is an Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology. Her professional preparation includes an MFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee (2008), a B.A. in Dance (Magna cum Laude) from Southern Methodist University (1982), and an Associate of Arts and Science from Brookhaven College (1979).
Her research interests focus on dance education, choreography, and performance art. She has extensive experience in teaching and choreography, spanning over three decades with roles at UTD, Brookhaven Community College, and institutions like the Hathaway Academy of Ballet. Her choreographic works have been adjudicated and performed at festivals such as the Dallas Morning News Dance Festival and the Southwestern Regional Dance America Festival.
Professionally, she has performed in renowned venues like the Dancespace Project in New York and the Eisemann Center in Richardson, TX. Her performance history includes roles in productions such as Camelot and La Fortza Del Destino. She has also been involved in theater productions, including Amahl and the Night Visitors and The Odyssey.
Her career highlights include residencies with Young Audiences of Greater Dallas and collaborations with dance companies like Ewert & Company and Dancers' Unlimited Repertory Company. She has adjudicated at events such as the Dance Masters of America and led master classes across institutions in Arkansas and Texas.
