معرفی
Dr. Simona Regenspurg is a Professor of Hydrogeology and Head of the Geothermal Fluids Working Group at the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam, Germany. She is also affiliated as an external lecturer with the Institute of Geological Sciences under the Department of Geosciences. Her career spans academic and research roles across prestigious institutions, including EPFL (Switzerland), KTH Royal University of Technology (Sweden), Colorado School of Mines (USA), and the Federal Institute of Geosciences and Natural Resources (Germany). She has been a Research Scientist at GFZ since 2009.
- Education: Diploma in Geology/Hydrogeology from Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich (1992-1998)
Research Focus: Dr. Regenspurg's research centers on hydrogeological processes, particularly geothermal fluids, aquifer heat storage (ATES), and urban groundwater systems. Her work integrates geochemical and hydrological analyses to address sustainable energy storage and subsurface resource management. At GFZ, she leads projects on geothermal energy systems, emphasizing their role in urban environments.
Teaching Contributions: She offers graduate courses such as MSc-HG009: Geothermal Fluids (Winter Semester) and Aquifer Heat Storage (ATES) in Urban Areas (Summer Semester), highlighting her expertise in applied hydrogeology and geothermal energy solutions.
Current Role: Dr. Regenspurg's position at GFZ involves interdisciplinary research on geothermal systems, with a focus on Berlin's urban subsurface. Her technical skills include fluid-rock interaction modeling, fieldwork, and computational hydrogeology.
