Fabien Magri

Fabien Magri is a Senior Lecturer in Hydrogeology at the Department of Geosciences, Institute of Geological Sciences, Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2018, he has served as a hydrogeologist at the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BASE) in Berlin, Germany. His academic career spans multiple prestigious institutions, including the GFZ Potsdam, UFZ Leipzig, and Freie Universität Berlin, where he held roles such as project leader and postdoctoral researcher.

• Education: M.Sc. in Physics (Earth Sciences, 2002) from Milan University, Italy; Dr. rer. nat. (PhD, 2005) from Freie Universität Berlin and GFZ Potsdam; Privatdozent (Habil., 2014) in Hydrogeology at Freie Universität Berlin.

Magri's research focuses on hydrogeology, geochemistry, and mineralogy, with a particular emphasis on modeling mass and energy transport in deep aquifers. He teaches the summer semester course MSc-HG008: Modeling in Hydrogeology II and is actively involved in mentoring and evaluating graduate students, serving as a reviewer and jury member for Ph.D. defenses across France, Germany, and Italy.
