Sidse Grangaard is a Senior Researcher at the Department of the Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering and Science, Aalborg University. She specializes in Universal Design and Accessibility within architectural and urban contexts. Her work focuses on inclusive spatial planning, regulatory frameworks, and the intersection of architecture with disability studies.
Education: PhD in 'Med mennesker i rammer - dialogorienteret registrering af rum og aktivitet i kontormiljøer' from the Royal Danish Academy (2005–2008), followed by an architect degree (1994–2001). Professional experience includes roles as space planner and architectural consultant at SIGNAL arkitekter (2001–2005).
Research interests span accessibility in built environments, performance-based building codes, and the social implications of architectural design. She leads the Rumsans platform promoting universal design principles and collaborates on projects like 'RESPOND' studying post-pandemic urban adaptation.
