Dr. Shirin Malek Pour is an Associate Professor at the Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI), Monash University, where she leads research on strategic planning, governance, and transformative adaptation for sustainable development. She is a Chief Investigator in multiple transdisciplinary research programs and serves as a scientific advisor to the United Nations, appointed by the UN Secretary-General to the Independent Group of Scientists shaping the Global Sustainable Development Report.

She frequently publishes in high-impact journals such as Sustainability Science, Environmental Science and Policy, and Journal of Environmental Planning and Management, with a focus on governance, transitions, and policy innovation.
