Dr. Cameron Allen is a Senior Research Fellow and ARC DECRA Fellow at Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI), Monash University. His work focuses on designing sustainable and just economies through advanced systems modelling and policy analysis, particularly in the context of net-zero transitions and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He has led projects with UN agencies, governments, and industry, including the Transforming Australia initiative and contributions to the UN Global Sustainable Development Report.
Education: PhD and MPhil in Sustainable Development (UNSW), Master of Environmental Management, Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science), and Bachelor of Business (Management and Economics).
Research interests include sustainability transitions, systems dynamics modelling, policy analysis, and governance frameworks. His work integrates quantitative and qualitative methods to address complex challenges like climate policy, air pollution, and equitable development. Recent projects highlight participatory modelling for transboundary air pollution in Thailand/Laos and SDG progress assessments in Australia.
Awards include the Dean's Award for Outstanding PhD Theses (2021) and Exceptional Achievement Payment (2024). He has secured ARC grants and led collaborative projects with Melbourne City Council and international partners. His expertise spans SDG localisation, green economy strategies, and systems change acceleration.
