Dr Paul Satur is a Lecturer at the Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI), Monash University, where he is affiliated with the Centre for Water Sensitive Cities. His work integrates environmental and social sciences to support sustainable, liveable, and resilient urban water futures. He is actively involved in research, training, and policy influence, with a strong focus on equity, community engagement, and urban sustainability transitions.

Dr Satur’s research centers on integrated water management, social inclusion, and the socio-ecological dimensions of urban sustainability. His work explores how water-sensitive urban design can address social inequalities and enhance community resilience. He has contributed significantly to the development of the Water Sensitive Cities Index Tool and has led research under the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities.
His recent publications reflect a strong interdisciplinary focus, spanning environmental justice, climate resilience, urban policy, and utility sustainability. Themes include economic abuse in water access, Scope 3 emissions from residential water use, and frameworks for aligning urban water utilities with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These works highlight his commitment to translating research into practical policy and governance solutions.

His collaborative work spans government, industry, and non-profit sectors. He has also established the Our Future Cities Program, a community of practice aimed at amplifying diverse voices in urban sustainability planning. His public engagement includes media contributions with ABC and policy-focused articles, reinforcing his role as a bridge between academia and societal impact.
