Dr Sharon Morgan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Exeter. She joined in 2018 after 20 years as a secondary English teacher, specializing in KS3-5 instruction across mainstream and alternative provisions. Her research focuses on linguistics, grammar education, and academic literacies in higher education. She contributes to the secondary English PGCE and MA Education Online programs.

Research Interests: Dr Morgan investigates procedural and declarative metalinguistic knowledge in students, disciplinary writing approaches, and online learning practices. Her work bridges classroom discourse analysis and educational policy, particularly regarding widening participation for vocational students.

- 2020-2021: UoE Education Incubator Award (£8,758) on effective online learning practices
- 2021-2022: Study on PGCE students' experiences of gender-based microaggressions
