Dr Sharon Jagger is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Humanities at York St John University, specializing in Religion and Philosophy. She holds a PhD in Women's Studies from the University of York, with a focus on feminist theory and religion. Her teaching includes modules such as Religion, Gender and Sexuality, Sociology of Religion, and Work-Related Learning. She supervises postgraduate students in areas of religion, gender, class, and qualitative methods.
Her research explores feminist perspectives on religion, particularly women's spiritualities, gender dynamics in religious institutions, and collaborations between performance and implicit religion. Notable projects include work with Helen Turner on audience participation in performance rituals and studies on women clergy in the Church of England.
