Andrew Village

Andrew Village is a Professor of Practical and Empirical Theology at the School of Humanities, York St John University. With a background in natural science and Anglican ministry, he specializes in applying social science methods to the study of religious beliefs and practices.

Research Interests: Focus on empirical theology, psychological type theory in religious contexts, clergy wellbeing during pandemics, and sociological changes in Anglican communities. Key projects include pandemic-era church surveys and same-sex blessings research.

Recent Publications: 15 major works (2020–2025) analyzing psychological wellbeing in religious communities, digital worship adaptation, and theological debates through personality profiling.
