Shanon Phelan is Associate Professor at Dalhousie University's School of Occupational Therapy, with cross-appointments in Pediatrics. She directs the SHIFT Collective research group focused on inclusion and disability.
Education: BSc Human Kinetics (Guelph), MSc Occupational Therapy (Western), PhD Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (Western), Postdoc at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.
Research examines inclusive practices for disabled children through four interconnected streams: child culture, education systems, family/community contexts, and service delivery frameworks.
Current projects investigate equitable access to early learning, health impacts of inclusion, and transforming support services for survivors of violence.
