Julia Gray is Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in Health Humanities within the Department of Health and Society at University of Toronto Scarborough. She holds a Ph.D. from OISE/University of Toronto's Adult Education and Community Development program, an M.A. from York University, and a B.F.A. in Theatre from York University. Her interdisciplinary research bridges performance studies, critical disability theory, and health sciences.

- Therapeutic clowning in healthcare
As a playwright and director, she has created research-informed theatre projects including 'After the Crash: a play about brain injury' and 'Cracked: new light on dementia.' She served as Visiting Scholar at York University's Sensorium Centre (2020-21) and Postdoctoral Fellow at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital (2016-20).
