Dr. Shannon Brogan is a Professor in Speech Communication at Kentucky State University, affiliated with the School of Humanities. She teaches courses such as Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, Group Discussion and Debate, Persuasive Speaking, Interracial/Intercultural Communication, Institutional Communication, Voice and Diction, and Oral Interpretation. She also serves as an academic advisor for Mass Communication & Journalism majors.

- Master of Arts in Communication from West Virginia University
- Ph.D. in Communication from Ohio University (concentration: Instructional and Interpersonal Communication)
Dr. Brogan's research focuses on service learning, intercultural communication, learning styles, standardized testing, family and work-life balance, communication apprehension, instructional communication, and interpersonal communication. She actively participates in professional organizations like the Eastern Communication Association and Kentucky Communication Association.
In leadership roles, Dr. Brogan currently serves as Acting Chair of the School of Humanities, Acting Coordinator of the Whitney M. Young Jr. Honors Collegium, and Acting Coordinator of the Liberal Studies program. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and educational innovation.
