Kenna J. Reeves is an Instructor of Communication in the Department of Communication and Theatre at Emporia State University's School of Humanities and Social Sciences, where she has been a faculty member since 1984. She teaches courses including Public Speaking, Advanced Public Speaking, Nonverbal Communication, and special topics on Communication Theory and Event Planning.
Her educational background features an undergraduate degree in Speech and Theatre and an M.S., both earned at Emporia State University (formerly Emporia Kansas State College).
Reeves' research spans public speaking apprehension, cultivation theory, teaching pedagogy, strategic planning, nonverbal communication, interpersonal communication, academic advising, and intercultural communication. She has published on basic interpersonal communication skills and academic advising with intercultural students, and is recognized for workshops on communication topics for community leadership and civic organizations statewide.

Reeves serves as an academic advisor and community leader, having twice presided over the Kansas Speech Communication Association while collaborating extensively with high school communication, forensics, debate, and theatre programs. She maintains active involvement with the Kansas Leadership Center and state civic organizations.
