معرفی
Dr. Sergei Kirilov is a Researcher at the Centre for Earth Observation Science within the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth, and Resources at the University of Manitoba. His work focuses on physical oceanography in the Arctic, particularly ice-ocean interactions in the Canadian Arctic, Hudson Bay, and Nares Strait. He has conducted over 30 field expeditions in Arctic regions to study sea ice thickness and melting processes.
Education:
- PhD in Physical Oceanography (2007), Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, Russia
- MSc in Oceanography (2000), Russian State Hydrometeorological University
- BSc in Oceanography (1998), Russian State Hydrometeorological University
Research interests include atmospheric and oceanic influences on sea ice, numerical modeling, and field data analysis. His recent publications address ice bridge dynamics, Arctic upwelling systems, and the role of atmospheric forcing in sea ice variability.
Labs/Teams: His research leverages the University of Manitoba’s Arctic observation infrastructure and collaborates with international polar research networks.
