Sean Mulholland is Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for the Study of Free Enterprise at Western Carolina University. His research spans economic growth, regulatory impacts, education economics, and sports economics, with publications in the Journal of Economic Growth, Public Choice, and Southern Economic Journal.
Mulholland received the Georgescu-Roegen Prize for his analysis of ride-sharing's effects on fatal crashes and crime. His work on college rankings, test-optional policies, and athletic program impacts informs higher education policy debates. He mentors undergraduate researchers and has taught at Boston College, Stonehill College, and Mercer University.
