Sean Clarke is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Montreal, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Hong Kong. He has extensive experience teaching at all university levels in Canada and the United States and has held leadership roles including directing the McGill Nursing Collaboration Initiative for Patient- and Family-Centered Care Education and Innovation (2012-2014) and chairing the Quebec Accreditation Council.
His primary research interests lie in patient safety and healthcare quality in hospital settings. Specifically, he investigates:
- Biosafety and risk management
- Indicators and measurement of care quality
- Nursing education and its impact on patient outcomes
Dr. Clarke is a member of the American Academy of Nursing, a recognition of his significant contributions to nursing science and practice.
He has supervised graduate students and secured research funding, including a major donation for the McGill initiative. Additionally, he held a clinical research chair at the University of Toronto and University Health Network. Dr. Clarke is an active international collaborator, serving as a reviewer, speaker, and consultant for research projects and scientific publications worldwide.
