Marie-Josée Levert, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Nursing, Université de Montréal. She holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Université du Québec à Montréal and completed postdoctoral work in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McGill University.

Her research focuses on citizen accompaniment to enhance quality of life, autonomy, and resilience for individuals and families facing chronic health conditions. Key areas include knowledge translation, therapeutic education, health psychology, and community integration for brain injury patients.
Her publications and projects emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration, innovative interventions for traumatic brain injury recovery (e.g., APIC program), and digital health strategies to promote patient self-management. Grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ), and the Foundation of the UdeM Health Sciences Coordinating Center (Fondation de l’IUSMM) support her work.
She supervises master’s theses on topics like social participation of elderly brain injury survivors, burnout prevention in healthcare, and community integration models. Her affiliations include the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation du Montréal métropolitain (CRIR) and the Comité d'éthique de la recherche en santé (CÉRES).
