Walter Wittich is a Professor at the School of Optometry, Université de Montréal, specializing in visual impairment and rehabilitation. His research focuses on sensory science, dual sensory impairment, and assistive technologies for older adults. He holds affiliations with the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation du Montréal métropolitain (CRIR), Réseau de recherche en santé de la vision (RRSV), and other Quebec networks. Wittich has received notable awards, including the Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada Distinguished Community Partner Award (2025) and the JT Award (2020). He actively contributes to academic governance through committees and supervises numerous postdoctoral, doctoral, and master’s students.
