Alexandre Castonguay

Alexandre Castonguay is an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at Université de Montréal. His research focuses on digital health technologies, including telemedicine, AI applications in healthcare, and their impact on nursing practices and patient care. He holds a PhD in Social Psychology (2018) from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and completed postdoctoral training in Nursing and AI-driven healthcare at UQTR and HEC Montréal. His work emphasizes optimizing healthcare quality through technology adoption, particularly addressing nurse work environment challenges and patient accessibility.

Currently, he teaches courses in nursing research and digital health at Université de Montréal, supervising master’s and PhD students exploring AI integration in clinical practice.

He advocates for national AI strategies to accelerate healthcare innovation, emphasizing Canada’s need for coordinated infrastructure and policies to leverage AI’s potential. His collaborations include work with CIFAR’s AI4Health initiative and NHS-style AI deployment models.
