Prof. Dr. Schmidt is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry, Technical University of Darmstadt. He was born in 1962 in San Fernando/Trinidad & Tobago and holds affiliations with multiple institutions across Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States. His academic career spans chemistry studies at the University of Hannover and Imperial College, postdoctoral work at Scripps Research Institute, and habilitation at the University of Hannover.
