Martin Jansen

Martin Jansen serves as Director at the Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart and holds an Honorary Professorship at the University of Stuttgart. His distinguished career includes previous professorships at the University of Bonn (1987-1998) and University of Hannover (1981-1987). As a leading figure in German chemistry, he maintains active memberships in numerous prestigious scientific societies across Europe and the United States.

Jansen's educational foundation was established at the University of Gießen, where he completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1973 with a dissertation titled "About Oxomanganates and Oxocobaltates of the Alkaline Metals" and earned his Habilitation in Inorganic Chemistry in 1978.

His primary research focus is on preparative solid state chemistry, with significant contributions to crystal chemistry and materials science. Jansen's work bridges fundamental chemical principles with practical applications in material development, particularly in the synthesis and characterization of novel inorganic compounds.
