Sasha Lynn

Dr Sasha Lynn is an Honorary Research Fellow at The University of Queensland's School of Education within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. A registered clinical psychologist with nearly 20 years of school-based clinical experience, she bridges psychology, education, and neuroscience through applied translational research.

Her educational background includes a Professional Doctorate (2008) and PhD (2021), both from The University of Queensland, focusing on peer relationships and social-emotional learning in educational contexts.

• Specializes in child and adolescent development with emphasis on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
• Research investigates wellbeing impacts on educational outcomes through emotion regulation and peer relationships
• Pioneers gamification frameworks for SEL engagement across digital and face-to-face settings
• Adapts compassion-focused therapeutic approaches for classroom wellbeing and relational safety
• Co-designs interventions with educators/students centering student voice and agency

Her work with the UQ Learning Lab and Compassionate Mind Research Group drives evidence-based interventions like KooLKIDS and Mindfields HS, demonstrating commercial viability and practical application in school systems.

Current research examines digital emotion regulation tools and compassion frameworks for classroom wellbeing, building on systematic reviews of adolescent SEL delivery modes.

Dr Lynn actively contributes to teacher wellbeing initiatives and digital mental health dissemination while maintaining strong school partnerships through the UQ Learning Lab's Partner Schools Program.

As Associate Advisor for PhD research on compassion-focused interventions with young offenders, she extends her expertise to juvenile justice settings while maintaining clinical psychology registration.
