Jessica D. Hoffmann is an Assistant Professor at the Yale Child Study Center and Director of Research at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. She holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Case Western Reserve University and specializes in social and emotional learning (SEL) within school settings to enhance children’s emotion regulation and creativity. Her work focuses on evaluating SEL programs like RULER and inspirED, emphasizing educator and student well-being.
Education: B.A. Psychology & Sociology (Brandeis University), M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (Case Western Reserve University). Postdoctoral research at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence (2016).
Research Interests: Adolescent behavior, creativity development, emotional intelligence, school climate, and SEL implementation. Her studies bridge theory and practice to improve educational environments through emotion skills training.
