Sasha Alick-Lindstrom

Sasha Alick-Lindstrom, M.D., is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in epilepsy and seizure disorders, focusing on complex cases, epilepsy in women and pregnancy, surgical interventions, and neurostimulation. As Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigator, she leads clinical trials and contributes to peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. She mentors trainees from marginalized groups and holds leadership roles in professional societies, including Chair for Underrepresented in Neurology at the American Academy of Neurology. Her fellowships include FAAN, FACNS, and FAES.

Dr. Alick-Lindstrom earned her medical degree from UCC School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, completed neurology residency at UT Health Science Center Houston, and fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at UT Health Science Center San Antonio. Her research spans epilepsy surgery, neuroimaging (MEG/SEEG), healthcare equity, and LGBTQ+ neurology care. She chairs committees addressing burnout, gender equity, and inclusive clinical practices.

Her publications analyze surgical decision-making for genetic epilepsy, lactation experiences among neurology faculty, and epilepsy care for gender-diverse patients. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in the Epilepsy Section and Department of Radiology, advancing innovative treatments and patient-centered care.
