Sascha Goluboff is a Professor of Cultural Anthropology and Director of the Community-Based Learning Program at Washington and Lee University since 1999. She holds bachelor's degrees in Sociology, Anthropology, and Russian Studies from Colgate University, and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Her research focuses on the anthropology of emotion, examining practices of mourning in Azerbaijan, gender dynamics in African American spirituality in Virginia, and technology's impact on student sociality. She integrates ethnography with fiction writing in her academic work.
Recent projects include community collaborations in Glasgow, mapping Black-owned businesses during Jim Crow era in Lexington, and teaching courses like 'Narrating Our Stories: Culture, Society and Identity' at Augusta Correctional Center.
She received grants from the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and American Philosophical Society. Her leadership extends to the Community Engagement and Service-Learning Committee and serving as Virginia state coordinator for the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program.
