Dr. Sarita Khemani is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University and a Hospital Medicine physician specializing in perioperative care. She co-directs the Stanford Medicine Clinical Summer Internship (SMCSI), a globally recognized premedical program. Her roles include directing medical student and resident perioperative rotations, leading the Stanford Lifestyle Medicine Stress Neuroscience initiative, and serving on hospital committees.
Education: Board Certified in Internal Medicine (2009), Residency/Internship at UCSF (1995-1997), Medical Degree from Indira Gandhi Medical College (1992).
Research interests focus on perioperative medical complications, resilience enhancement, and healthcare education. She has pioneered programs to increase healthcare access for underrepresented students and delivered keynote addresses at national meetings.
