Sarfraz Mian

Sarfraz Mian is a SUNY Distinguished Professor of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the School of Business, State University of New York at Oswego. His academic career includes roles as Associate Editor of the Journal of Small Business Management (JSBM) and leadership in professional organizations such as the Academy of Management and INFORMS. He holds advanced degrees from institutions like the George Washington University (Ph.D., MBA), Northwestern University (MS in Management Science), and Punjab University (BS Physics, MS Chemical/Energy Engineering).

Dr. Mian's research focuses on entrepreneurship ecosystems, business incubation mechanisms, strategic management of SMEs, and entrepreneurial university models. He has authored/co-edited 4 books and over 70 articles, with notable work on science parks, crowdfunding strategies, and STEM startup education. His recent studies analyze how entrepreneurial universities drive regional innovation and how social skills influence entrepreneurial perseverance.
