Sarah Samreen

Sarah Samreen, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), serving as Director of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. She holds an MBBS from AGA Khan University Medical College in Karachi (completed 2010). Her research focuses on bariatric surgery outcomes, obesity management, and surgical innovation. Key areas include postoperative cancer risk in transplant patients, bile duct surgical techniques, and sustainability in surgical practices. She has authored/co-authored 16 peer-reviewed publications and collaborates internationally on studies addressing metabolic surgery challenges.
