Dr. Sarah Roberts is an Associate Professor of Saxophone and Jazz Studies at the University of Texas at Tyler. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance from the University of North Texas, dual Master of Music degrees in Saxophone Performance and Jazz Studies from the same institution, and dual Bachelor degrees in Saxophone Performance and Jazz Studies from the University of Michigan.

Her research interests span classical, jazz, and popular music performance, with a focus on promoting new music through ensembles like the Essimar trio. She actively collaborates with orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Dallas Wind Symphony, and has performed in venues across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Dr. Roberts is a key figure in music education, leading initiatives like the UT Tyler Jazz Camp (funded by a JAZZ2U grant) and the East Texas Youth Orchestra’s Jazz Academy. She serves on the Texas Jazz Educators Association board and has held roles in TMEA and ATSSB festivals.
Her professional affiliations include membership in the Selmer Paris and Vandoren artist programs.
