Sarah Cavanah is an Assistant Professor at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas, joining the faculty in 2024. Her research focuses on the intersection of rural community health, access to quality news, and sustainable journalism models, with an emphasis on how media use aligns with ethical news production. She is also a leading scholar in scholastic media, examining its role in student learning outcomes and advising practices, and has contributed to innovative student-led initiatives like Real Duck Tails in science communication.
