Dr. Marina Hendricks is an Assistant Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator for the Online Master of Mass Communication at South Dakota State University's School of Communication & Journalism. She teaches courses in Public Relations Writing, Integrated Marketing Communication, and Cross-Platform Campaigns.

Her research focuses on youth journalism, student journalists, journalism ethics, and social media's impact on media practices. She has led initiatives exploring pandemic-related educational barriers, diversity in youth journalism, and socioeconomic factors in tobacco cessation.
Recent publications analyze post-pandemic educational disruptions, racial terminology in student media, and digital agenda-setting during political events. These works span subfields like media ethics, youth engagement, and digital communication trends.
