Charles Lubbers is a Professor in the Department of Media & Journalism at the University of South Dakota, where he has taught since 2005 after spending 14 years at Kansas State University. He specializes in public relations and advertising education and has held leadership positions in the two largest groups of PR educators.

His publications demonstrate a strong interest in understanding how different generations approach communication, workplace expectations, and consumer behavior.
His recent publications (2023-2025) show a significant focus on Generation Z's workplace expectations, mobile communication preferences, and advertising engagement patterns, reflecting current industry challenges in connecting with younger demographics. He has also published extensively on entertainment industry marketing, particularly examining social media video advertising effectiveness.
