Dr. Sara Valdebenito is an Assistant Professor in Applied Criminology and Police Management at the University of Cambridge's Institute of Criminology, appointed in March 2023. Her work bridges criminology and public health, focusing on school-based interventions, maternal mental health, and technology-driven violence prevention.

Her research spans systematic reviews and randomized controlled trials on topics like violent radicalization, school bullying, maternal depression, and virtual reality interventions for stigma reduction. She has collaborated with the Violence Research Centre since 2017 and taught as an Associate Lecturer since 2015. Previously, she contributed to Chile's Juvenile Justice System policy (Act 20.084) and lectured at Alberto Hurtado University.
