Sara Hackenberg is a Professor and M.A. Literatures Program Coordinator in the Department of English Language and Literature at San Francisco State University. She holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University. Her research focuses on 19th-century popular literature and culture, including serial fiction, narrative mystery, sensational fiction, media culture development, and silent film studies.
