Sara Connolly serves as Professor of Personnel Economics at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia (UEA), where she leads research on workplace wellbeing economics. She currently collaborates with RAND Europe on 'Practices and Combinations of Practices for Health and Wellbeing at Work' and previously contributed to the What Works Wellbeing Evidence Programme for Work and Wellbeing.
Her research centers on Personnel Economics with specialized focus on Workplace Wellbeing, Mental Health at Work, and Flexible Working Arrangements. She investigates economic impacts of wellbeing initiatives, including cost-benefit analyses of mental health programs in healthcare settings and productivity outcomes from flexible work policies.
Recent work demonstrates significant real-world applications, such as identifying £12 billion savings potential through NHS mental health improvements and establishing business cases linking employee wellbeing investments to reduced costs, innovation, and productivity gains across multiple 2020-2022 publications.
