Sanja Medić is a Serbian/Dutch artist and academic based in Amsterdam. Since 2018, she has been teaching sculpture at the first-year Fine Arts department of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK). Her artistic practice spans site-specific installations, public art, and autonomous works in sculpture, collage, and photography.
Education: Graduated from KABK in 1999, earned a master's degree at the Frank Mohr Institute (Groningen), and was a resident at the Rijksakademie (Amsterdam, 2004). Notable works include Free Fall (Parliament building projection), The Traveler (train station interior), and The Batavier (ceramic facade design).
Research interests focus on spatial perception through dimensions, time, and light. Current explorations involve glass as a material to interrogate light’s relationship to space. Teaches sculpture emphasizing materiality and site-specificity.
