معرفی
André Kruysen is affiliated with the Bachelor Fine Arts program at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK). As a sculptor and curator, he focuses on relational sculptures that engage with architectural spaces and light, exploring themes of stillness, modernism, and the interplay of constructive/destructive forces. His work often involves site-specific interventions that alter spatial dynamics through material and light.
Education: Rijksacademy, Amsterdam (1996/97); KABK, The Hague (Sculpture, graduated 1992).
Research Interests: Kruysen’s practice revolves around the sacral quality of light, the paradox of disruption and stillness, and the physical engagement with space. His smaller-scale sculptures mirror his pursuit of equilibrium, blending modernist influences with contemporary materiality.
Exhibitions & Collaborations:
- Curator of The Sculpture Gallery (Stroom/P.Struycken partnership).
- Exhibitions include Murenuma Art Center (Sapporo, 2022), Galerie Ramakers (The Hague, 2021), and solo shows like Membrane (NL=US gallery, 2020).
- Collaborations with MIII Architects and KAOS Architects on public commissions in The Hague, Woerden, and elsewhere.
Labs/Teams: Involved in architectural collaborations and public art projects, integrating sculpture with urban environments.
