Dr. Sandy Frederick is an Assistant Professor of Education at Emory & Henry College, where she also serves as Director of the Neff Center for Teacher Education, Education Department Chair, and CAEP Lead. She holds a B.S. in Secondary Education Social Studies from Auburn University, an M.Ed. in School Administration from Vanderbilt University, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Analysis from East Tennessee State University.
Her research focuses on middle school best practices, trauma-informed education, and evidence-based teaching strategies. Dr. Frederick has 13 years of classroom teaching experience and 5 years in school administration, including roles as middle school assistant principal in Virginia. She currently chairs the Virginia Middle School Association and has served on the Virginia Teacher of the Year selection panel since 2019.
Professional recognitions include a state-level teaching award. She oversees courses like Human Growth and Development, Assessing for Learning, and Practicum in Education. Her work emphasizes bridging theory and practice in teacher preparation programs.
