Dr. Anne Crutchfield serves as the Director of Athletic Strategy and Assistant Professor in the Department of Health & Human Performance at Emory & Henry University. She holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Emory & Henry, an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from Virginia Tech, and an Ed.D. in Global Sports Leadership from East Tennessee State University. Her career spans athletic administration, coaching, and education.

- Prior roles: NCAA Division II Transition Leader, Head Women’s Basketball Coach (2014–2019), and Adjunct Math Instructor at Virginia Western Community College
Her research interests focus on athletic strategy, leadership development, and student-athlete holistic success. Under her leadership, Emory & Henry expanded athletic programs, built a $13M facility, and launched the Student-Athlete Success Program. She has coached at high school and collegiate levels, achieving a 98-40 record as head coach and mentoring All-ODAC and All-American athletes.
Key achievements include NCAA Tournament appearances, ODAC Championship wins, and induction into the Emory & Henry Sports Hall of Fame. She serves on the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Board and volunteers with USA Basketball programs.
