Sally Mannall is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Art at RMIT University. Her research focuses on 'Art, Time and Space,' exploring rupture and disruption through video, photography, and installation practices. She teaches interdisciplinary approaches to art that engage with nature/culture ecology, conceptual art, and site-specific installations.
Her exhibitions include solo shows such as Near Distance (2006) and group exhibitions like The Weight of History (2007) and Screenings: International and Australian New Media Works (2006/07). Mannall actively supervises research students in Masters and PhD programs, focusing on socially engaged art practices and interdisciplinary methodologies.
Her creative works span installations, video projects, and experimental media, often addressing themes of environmental art, temporal dynamics, and public engagement. Notable outputs include Fruity Words: Windfall, Yield and Spoils (2018) and One day at a time (2017 book chapter).
Mannall’s teaching emphasizes post-studio strategies, performative practices, and the tragicomic in contemporary art. She is affiliated with RMIT’s Art, Time and Space research cluster, fostering collaborations that bridge artistic innovation and critical theory.
