Polly Stanton

Dr. Polly Stanton lectures in media practice at RMIT University, specializing in sound, video and installation art. Her creative research investigates human-environment relationships through film and sound installations focused on extractive landscapes and contested territories.

Artistic practice explores:

• Political dimensions of landscape
• Field recording as knowledge production
• Industrial transformation of nature
• Temporality in degraded environments
• Multisensory site engagement

Notable works include Indefinite Terrains (2019) examining plantation forestry, and The Spectral Field (2017) documenting ephemeral salt lakes. Exhibited internationally with works held in public and private collections.
