Sabrina Di Maria is a Professor of Roman Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Trento. She holds a national qualification as a Full Professor in Roman and Ancient Law (ASN 2021, Sector 12/H1). Her academic career includes teaching at the Universities of Trento, Verona, and Bologna, specializing in Roman Law, European Legal Foundations, and Legal History.
Education:
- 1993-1998: Liceo Classico 'P. Giannone', Benevento
- 2002/2003: Laurea in Law (110/110 cum laude) at University of Bologna
- 2006: State Bar Exam (Corte d'Appelo di Bologna)
- 2008: PhD in 'History of Thought and Roman Legal Institutes', University of Reggio Calabria
Research Interests: Roman Private Law, Law of Justinian, Foundations of European Law, Legal Reasoning, and the historical-comparative analysis of legal systems. She focuses on the continuity between Roman legal principles and modern European frameworks.
Research Activities:
- Member of the ERC-funded 'Scriptores iuris Romani' project (2015–2020) at Sapienza University of Rome
- Lead collaborator in an international project on the Draft Common Frame of Reference with Spanish and Italian universities
- Contributor to the 'FIR A' (Sources of Roman Law Before Justinian) project
