Massimo Miglietta is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Trento, specializing in Roman and ancient law. He earned his Laurea in Giurisprudenza (110 e lode) from Università Cattolica di Milano and a Ph.D. in Roman law from the University of Catanzaro. His academic roles include positions at Turin, Insubria, and Heidelberg (via Erasmus Plus). He directs the 'Cattedra Giorgio Luraschi' research center and co-edits the 'BUC. Biblioteca Universitaria Centrale' publication series.
His research explores Roman private law (obligations, legal acts), delictual liability (lex Aquilia, iniuria), Roman public law (imperial authority, provincial governance), Byzantine jurisprudence, and historical legal processes, notably the trial of Jesus. He employs interdisciplinary methods linking philology, papyrology, and legal history.
