Ryan Humphrey

Ryan Humphrey is Lecturer in Arts Management and Cultural Policy at the University of Manchester's School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, where he serves as Programme Director for the MA in Arts Management, Policy and Practice.

Research examines the intersection of community arts practice and cultural policy, particularly how policy shapes funding mechanisms and impacts program development/delivery. Additional interests include arts-based placemaking approaches to urban regeneration.

Professional background includes community music program management in Northeast England, specializing in programs for care-experienced youth. Previous roles include Training Manager at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, where he developed inclusive practice frameworks.

Current monograph development focuses on the relationship between community music and cultural policy formation.
