Noelle Gallagher is Senior Lecturer in 18th-Century British Literature at the University of Manchester's Centre for New Writing, specializing in Restoration literature, graphic art, and medical humanities.
Her research examines representations of disease in Georgian Britain, including current work on gout's cultural history. Previous monograph 'Itch, Clap, Pox' explored venereal disease representations in 18th-century literature and art.

- Emotional dimensions of cancer in historical literature
