Chris Humphrey is an Adjunct Professor of Music Theory at the Osher School of Music, University of Southern Maine. He holds an MS and BM in Music Education and Voice/Trombone from the University of New Hampshire. Prior roles include coordinating music programs in Portland schools and faculty positions at UNH, Bowdoin College, and Southern Maine Community College. He has led ensembles in NYC, Europe, and Asia, and conducted the Bratton Hall Jazz Band and UNH Wildcat Marching Band.
His research interests span Jazz Piano, Music Theory, and music education. As a performer, he is praised for creativity, with notable performances at Blue Note venues globally. His compositions and arrangements have been commissioned by schools in NH, ME, and MA. He guest conducts across New England and internationally, emphasizing ensemble development and jazz heritage.
