Mark Manduca is a Lecturer in Trombone at the Osher School of Music, University of Southern Maine (USM), where he has been on faculty since 1984. He is also the music director of Old Orchard Beach High School (since 2000) and co-owner/senior editor of Manduca Music Publications in Portland, Maine. Manduca performs with prominent ensembles such as the Portland Symphony Orchestra, Portland Opera Repertory Orchestra, Portland Jazz Orchestra, and leads 5 Cylinder Jazz.

- Master of Music in Trombone Performance, Boston University
Research & Performance Interests: Specializing in trombone performance and music education, Manduca’s career emphasizes jazz and classical traditions. His performance credits include collaborations with artists like Clark Terry, Johnny Mathis, and Anne Murray, as well as Broadway’s A Chorus Line. He has taught at Bates College, Bowdoin College, University of Maine at Augusta, and Falmouth Schools.
Ensembles & Roles: Core member of the Portland Symphony Orchestra and Portland Brass, with leadership in 5 Cylinder Jazz. He is an original member of the Maine Bones.
Teaching & Publications: Over 40 years of teaching experience, combining classroom instruction and performance mentorship. His work with Manduca Music Publications focuses on jazz and classical music education materials.
